The engine oil pressure is below the map-based trip point, and the delay time has expired. The code is logged. The engine is shut down. The ECM may derate the engine or shut down the engine.
Low oil pressure indicates something is wrong, and not enough lubricant is moving through the system to protect your engine adequately. A lack of lubrication can lead to metal-on-metal contact and result in premature component wear or engine failure. An engine can fail in a matter of hours or minutes, depending on the severity of the situation.
